EastLake
The J.G. Boswell Company continued its community master planning and development tradition with the 3,200-acre master-planned community of EastLake in Chula Vista, California. EastLake is one of the largest master-planned communities in San Diego County featuring three distinct residential neighborhoods, commercial and industrial zoning, new schools, parks, lakes and trails. The project was begun in the early 1980s and is now nearing completion. EastLake offers a diverse range of approximately 9,500 homes for a population of 30,000 people.
The J.G. Boswell Company was responsible for backbone infrastructure and community facilities planning. The company markets land to individual homebuilders and commercial, industrial and retail users. EastLake established design controls that were implemented throughout the 25-year development program.
The EastLake Community has been named "Best New Home Community" by the readers of the San Diego Union-Tribune annually since 1997.
